Yesterday was my first day at Fitplan, which I am super excited to be a part of and I am looking forward to gaining experience with this team. I feel as if I am going to really enjoy working here already, just knowing that it’s a 2-minute walk from the gym, work hours are not set in stone (as long as you get your work done), co-workers are awesome and they share the same passion for fitness – which makes me so much more motivated and inspired!
The only thing that I’m concerned about is the chronic back and neck pain that I get from sitting down. Luckily for me, I am allowed to take breaks and walk around, but I also like to get my work done as quickly as possible. I’ve had this back and neck pain for 5 years now, and it only seems to be getting worse each day. I will definitely have to come up with a solution because the pain affects me even when I do simple daily tasks such as brushing my teeth!
Back to my story…after work, I rushed out to Big Feet for a fire cupping appointment. It surprised me that it was only $23 for an appointment, when I paid $70 at another place! Since my back was in so much pain, I decided to do acupressure first, and then cupping therapy. That was a huge mistake. You know when you order food at a restaurant when you’re super hungry, and then you end up with stomach pain because you ordered way too much and ate too fast? That’s what happened to me at Big Feet, except my back was in pain because it had been over-treated. Fire cupping was painful enough without treating it with acupressure before.
Today, the pain has returned, and I am currently sitting in the work chair with a lacrosse ball in my back. So, did the treatment at Big Feet help? Not really. It provides a temporary relief of my back pain, but I know that the pain will return after work today. I do think that the $70 treatment from the other company is more effective in the long run. I will make another post about this company when I go back!
For now, I will endure the pain and enjoy the attractive octopus marks on my back.
